How do you make your own chicken stock?

Thinking of making my own sort of chicken soup. The main question here is how to make your own chicken stock, so please answer that question to qualify for best answer. But I do have another side question that you don't HAVE to answer but it would be VERY appreciated. What kind of things would you add to the broth to make a good stew or soup? Thanks.
