Poor monkey, died on tv show, seriously upsetting me?

Okay so i was watching National geographic Wild and there was this show with these little specific monkeys, and it was custom for the people around the area to go and periodically feed them potatoes and grain, which is obviously interfering with the animals nature. Well there was this one little monkey who was smaller than the rest cus his mom died, and no one took care of him, the two animal reasercher/explorer whatever guys, who hosted the show basically followed the little guy around and then at the end of the show they said Two weeks later the little monkey died...WTF? I understand letting nature go along in its course without interference but since the people were already feeding the monkeys i don;t understand why someone couldn't have reached out to the little orphan monkey instead of basically watching him die on camera. Im really pissed about it. I even shed a tear or two, i don;t know why im so upset, but can someone give me a logical explanation for that bullshit?
