My girlfriend cheated on me and I lost it?

My girlfriend cheated on me with a mate of mine, and I just lost it - I hit her with a solid left hook. Now she broke up with me and is even threatening to press charges. I honestly think I'm in the right, because this was a complete betrayal of my trust. What do you all think?
