Why are American popular views in politics and economy are so behind the times?

Because we have no real journalists or reporters to tell Americans the truth, and it is getting harder and harder to find out the truth behind all the info-tainment, sensationalism and outright lies that are fed to us 24/7 by American TV and radio.
