Plastic on frozen meat?

I was making a lunch today and I didn't know my parents had beef thawing in the oven (because my cats will get into it if it's on the counter) with the oven turned off, so I heated it for my pizza without checking if anything is in there. I went to but my pizza in and the plastic on the meat was starting to rip and it was skin tight on the meat. Did I ruin it?
